Entry into the Sixth Form

Some students join the College in Year 12 to complete their AS and A levels in our sixth form. Scholarships and bursaries are available.  For those interested in sixth form places, please come to our Sixth Form Information Evening on Thursday 17 September 2009 between 6pm and 8pm and find out more.  Scholarship examinations will be held on Monday 2, Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November 2009 for entry into Year 12 in September 2010. The closing date for registration to take those exams is Friday 16 October 2009.  During the exams, candidates are invited to spend two days at the College.

Students who wish to join the College in the sixth form and are not seeking scholarships are invited to attend the College to meet the Headmaster, have a tour of the school with a sixth form pupil and visit a day or boarding house. Offers of places are made in early December or in January and a place, once accepted, is guaranteed, dependent only on the candidate satisfying the entry requirement of a minimum of four B grades and two C grades at GCSE. Applications for entry to the sixth form can be made after this time and will be considered if space allows.

Bursaries are available in appropriate circumstances. Application involves completing a financial assistance form which is available from the Registrar or the Bursar.

The booklet Guide to Sixth Form Entry 2010.pdf is available detailing the Scholarships and the procedure for non-scholarship entry and details of arrangements for Eastbourne College bursaries.
