Scholarships and Awards

The College offers a number of scholarships and awards both at Year 9, for entry at age 13, and for Sixth Form entry to year 12.
For entry at Year 9, Eastbourne College offers academic awards and awards in art, design and technology, drama, music and sport. 

For those boys and girls with exceptional talent academically, in the creative arts or sporting arena, the benefits of coming to Eastbourne College are considerable. In summary

 At Eastbourne College, scholars are recognised as key individuals within year groups.  The school values individuals who demonstrate outstanding ability, strong leadership and ‘yeast’ qualities, regardless of their discipline.  We are looking for pupils who contribute not only through their individual performance in the classroom, as a member of a school team, in a drama production or orchestral concert but also as a role model in their attitude and conduct.

 For all the administrative details concerning the awards available for entry at year 9,   The Scholarships and Bursaries booklet is published annually in September.  

Year 12 entry

For entry into Year 12, Eastbourne College  offers  academic awards  (including Art)  and music .  In addition there are two separate awards that can be applied for:

1. The Scoresby-Jackson Science Award - academic scholarship candidates who wish to study at least three science subjects at A-level will be considered and further details are available from the Registrar.

2. The Bernard Drake Economics Award - academic scholarship candidates who wish to study A-Level Economics are eligble to apply and further details are available from the Registrar.

Further details about Sixth Form scholarships and entry guidelines can be found in a  Guide to Sixth Form Entry 2010.pdf .  Booklets are offered to all parents who are registered for the following year, in the September prior to the year of entry.
